For those couples preferring to go as a group we have arrangements for first-class private bus transportation from Calexico. There is  inexpensive secure parking in Calexico where you can leave your car, or meet in Calexico and caravan with others to San Felipe.

Exotic Travel Dream and Lifestyles Holidays have teamed to offer tours to San Felipe. The first is set for April 5-12 and can be for the week, a few days during the week, or over a weekend –
your choice. On arrival in San Felipe you will be met by Ed LaBanca or Chevie, your onsite guides for the many pleasures they have set up for
you. Our destination hotel is the Sanddollar,  owned by John, an ex-cropduster pilot.

Our exploratory visit to San Felipe left us with the desire to return often. We enjoyed a great Mexican dinner on the Malecon in the evening, the relaxed atmosphere, the bustle of people visiting the seaside shops, restaurants and bars, or just hanging out. We also paid a day visit to the casino that had recently opened, trying our luckin the slots, and visited a private home designed for lifestyle parties.

San Felipe,
Mexico

A new lifestyle friendly destination that surely will whet your interest sits on the Sea of Cortez a scenic drive south of the border town of Calexico, California. It is San Felipe on the east coastof Baja California Norte, a Mexican town reminding one of the friendly and exotic 1960s. San Felipe, long known as a premiere destination for fishing, is about the same driving distance as going to Las Vegas from Southern California.

Due to the work of Ed LaBanca, an American expatriate, San Felipe is lifestyle friendly. So friendly in fact, that a number of businesses sport a Lifestyles San Felipe decal on their door or front window, an invitation to a discount to any with the Lifestyles San Felipe Membership Card. The card is available through LaBanca at $50 per year. Ed’s site, www.lifestylesanfelipe.com, will tell you all about San Felipe and membership.

At this time there are two methods of getting to San Felipe, by car through Calexico from the Los Angeles, Orange County, and Inland Empire, or from the San Diego area, and by private plane to San  Felipe International Airport, a short 1.5 mile south of the Sanddollar Beachfront Hotel, which we recommend for your stay. The airport manager tells Lifestyles.org that shuttle service is expected from the U.S. in the coming months. Hopefully this will be from San Diego and Phoenix but we will have to wait to see.
